Ecofin is a cost-effective, and environmentally friendly single ply roofing membrane which is ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects.

Ecofin is manufactured from thermoplastic poleofin (TPO) and the patented products contain no plasticizers or oils thus allowing Ecofin to be locally recycled.

Ecofin is a no-flame product being either bonded in adhesive or mechanically fixed and unlike many single ply membranes Ecofin is ideally suited for overlaying bituminous roofing systems.

Ecofin has a proven track record, is approved by the NHBC and has BBA certificate number 04/4182

"It is no longer a question if PVC should be phased
out but how it should be phased out"
Anna Lindh former Swedish Minister for the Environment assassinated in Sept. 2003

Delta endeavours to promote sustainable and environment conscious alternatives to conventional roofing products where ever practicable. Sustainability is an important consideration in all we do, however we do recognise that our operations will inevitably have an impact on the environment.

To compensate for this Delta seeks to continually improve its environmental performance by preventing pollution, increasing energy efficiency and minimising waste. Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance.

In order to further improve awareness of sound environmental practices and to work closely with like-minded companies Delta joined the Green Register of Construction Professionals in February 2005. The register’s aims are shown below

In an open letter as long ago as September 1996 the then secretary of the Fire Brigades Union Ken Cameron wrote:
“As a result of evidence presented to us by Greenpeace, the FBU is now particularly concerned about the safety of PVC based building materials, that are used in the construction and fitting out of buildings, when involved in fire.
Whilst we readily acknowledge that other plastic types when involved in fire may also pose serious dangers to human life and building structures, there now exists a substantial body of evidence which shows that the combustion of PVC (as an organochlorine product) in a fire leads to the release of dioxins and furans which may then spread over a wide area by the smoke plume from the fire.
Dioxins are one of the most toxic chemicals known. They have been linked to human immune system problems and cancer. Dioxin is also a potent hormone disruptor. It is the ability of PVC when involved in a fire station to produce these substances which concerns us”

“The Green Register is training and networking organisation that brings together all disciplines in the construction industry who have a demonstrable commitment to sustainable building practices, including architects, engineers, builders, surveyors and tradespeople. The network provides a vital link between these professionals and their clients ranging from homeowners through to businesses and social housing providers.”
